About LA Churches

LA Churches is a directory of the Catholic churches of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles: every parish, with its Mass times, confession and adoration hours, address, telephone and website, on one map. The Archdiocese runs from the beaches of the South Bay to the mission towns of Santa Barbara County, in five pastoral regions and twenty deaneries, and Mass is celebrated in it every Sunday in dozens of languages.

The Mass finder answers one question: can I still make it? Share your location or name a city, and it lists the next Masses nearest you with the time to leave by. The confession and adoration finders do the same for the sacrament of penance and for Eucharistic adoration. The map shows every parish at once, and the directory lists them by city.

Each parish page states the schedule the parish itself publishes, with the date it was last read from the parish's own site. Schedules change, above all around Holy Week, Christmas and the summer, so the parish office remains the final word; every page carries its telephone number.

Who makes it

LA Churches is a work of Catholic Social Ventures, alongside Ubi Missa, the worldwide Mass finder, and Catholic Intelligence, the register of the Church's dioceses. It is free, carries no advertising, and asks nothing of a visitor but a location.

A parish, a school, a religious order, a Catholic business or a family may sponsor the site for a season or a year and be named here with thanks. A sponsor does not buy placement.
